Race Info

We’ve got 2 ways to race!

1. Participate Virtually via ErgZone

To compete virtually against other racers in real time, you must use the ErgZone mobile app. Live virtual racing on ErgZone requires three things:

1. PM5 Monitor (with updated firmware)

2. Wifi Connection

3. C2 Logbook Account

  • Both the ErgZone mobile app and C2 logbook account are free. You only pay your entry fee to compete in one of our races.

  • Each registered racer must have their own free C2 logbook. Kids cannot race under their parent’s logbooks; they need their own to have their results recorded and ranked.

2. Participate Independently Offline & Manually Submit Your Score via Screenshot.

This requires two things:

1. C2 Logbook Account

2. ErgZone Mobile App

  • Both the ErgZone mobile app and C2 logbook account are free. You only pay your entry fee to compete in one of our races.

Racing offline and manually submitting your score is a good option for international racers in different time zones, those with a shaky Wi-Fi connection, those with an older model Concept 2 monitor like a PM3 or PM4, or those competing in the Ergon Metron Series Cup who miss race day due to injury or illness and still want to earn their race cap during the 30-day submission window.

  • No matter which erg monitor you have, you must submit your offline race results on the ErgZone app. It is free to download.
    Get it here: ErgZone.

  • Set up your monitor manually and do the event at its scheduled time.

  • When finished racing, follow the prompts on the ErgZone screen and save a screenshot of your event.

  • Enter your race results into the ErgZone app, including a screenshot, as soon as you finish. The ErgZone app makes this easy with its built-in camera upload.

    • Report your results immediately after your event! You need to upload the screenshot from the ErgZone app you just took.

    • Manual results will not be accepted with an incorrect race date displayed on the monitor. If racing in a different time zone, you must race on race day at the official start time. E.g., If the race starts at 9 am on April 2nd, then you start at 9 am, whenever it’s 9 am on April 2nd in your city.

    • Manual submissions must be uploaded to the ErgZone app on the scheduled race day to be counted in the Ergon Metron Series Cup standings.

Attention International Racers racing in your own time zone: Those ahead of us on the clock will need to wait until we race here at 9 am CDT before you can manually enter your race results on the ErgZone app under the competition. The race will be locked until we go.

We will leave the submission open 24 hours after we race for all racers in different time zones to manually enter their results. Scores submitted in the 24-hour window are eligible for ranking in the EM Series Cup Championship.

Anyone competing in the Ergon Metron Series Cup MUST race on the scheduled race day of the event and at its scheduled start time in your time zone (virtually or offline) to remain in contention for the EM Series Cup Championship.

Race Rules

1. You cannot enter the EM Series Cup Championship after the first seasonal stage race, The Summer Sweater 1K, but you can still enter the remaining individual stage races.

Don’t wait to sign up! If you’re not sure you want to participate in the entire series, just sign up for the 1K and take each race as it comes. You will need to complete this race to earn your cap. If you missed the first two races, so what? Join us for one or both of the remaining stage races.

2. Racers who miss a scheduled race start have 30 days to submit a score to earn their cap but are no longer in contention for the overall Ergon Metron Series Cup Championship.

Half the battle is surviving the year and showing up at every scheduled race start, at race time, to saddle up and compete.

The Grand Champions of the Ergon Metron Series Cup and all other ranked Ergon Metron racers MUST race on race day at race time, just like every other regatta, race, or competition.

We made this change to protect the integrity of the series and keep the competition level as strong as possible on race day. Races require people to compete against each other. If you can’t make the start on race day, you have 30 days to submit a score via screenshot over email to info@foolsfestsprints.com. This way, you can still earn your cap.

  • If something significant has happened in your life and 30 days are not enough, shoot us an email and tell us what’s up. We want you to earn your cap and will entertain all reasonable requests for hardship extensions.

3. Make sure your erg monitor is set to the correct date. We are not accepting any race scores from 2014.
* Change the date via the UTILITIES button on your home screen.

4. Make sure your C2 PM5 monitor is up to date! Update your firmware BEFORE it’s time to race! Please.
