Race Info
We’ve got two ways to race!
A. Participate Virtually via ErgZone
To compete virtually against other racers in real time, you must use the free ErgZone mobile app. Live virtual racing on ErgZone requires:
1. Smartphone (Android or IOS)
2. Bluetooth (FTMS) compatible rowing machine: C2 Row Erg, C2 Slides, C2 Dynamic, RP3, WaterRower, Echo Rower, Assault Rower, FTMS Row, SmartRow.
How to connect your rower to ErgZone
3. C2 Logbook Account. You'll need this account to register for competitions and have your workouts verified and synced. ErgZone utilizes the Concept2 Logbook as the primary platform for athlete registration and data tracking.
Both the ErgZone mobile app and C2 logbook account are free. You only pay your entry fee to compete in our events.
Each registered racer on a relay team must have their own free C2 logbook.
B. Participate Independently Offline & Manually Submit Your Score via Screenshot.
This requires:
1. C2 Logbook Account
2. ErgZone Mobile App
Both the ErgZone mobile app and C2 logbook accounts are free. You only pay your entry fee to compete in one of our races.
Racing offline and manually submitting your score is a good option for international racers in different time zones, those with a shaky bluetooth connection, those with an older model Concept 2 monitor like a PM3 or PM4, those with two racers in a home with only one erg, or those competing in the Ergon Metron Series Cup who miss race day due to injury or illness and still want to earn their race cap during the 30-day submission window.
ErgZone is free to download. Get it here: ErgZone.
Set up your monitor manually and do the event at its scheduled date and time.
When finished racing, follow the prompts on the ErgZone screen and save a screenshot of your event.
Enter your race results into the ErgZone app under the event you are competing in, including a screenshot, as soon as you finish. The ErgZone app makes this easy with its built-in camera upload.
Manual submissions uploaded to the ErgZone app within 24 hours of the scheduled start date/time are counted in our official rankings and series standings. Official rankings are located here on our RESULTS page. This allows international racers to compete at a reasonable time of day.
Racers competing offline independently may submit only one entry for each event. We kindly ask that you be honest and make it your first attempt, as if you were racing in person at a live event.
Competitors in the Ergon Metron Series Cup Championship MUST race on the scheduled race day of the event and at its scheduled start time (virtually or offline) to remain in contention for the EM Series Cup Championship. International racers may compete in their local time zones on the scheduled race day (24-hour submission window.)
Competitors in the Ergon Metron Series Cup Championship who miss the 24-hour submission window can still earn their EM Master race cap by submitting their result within 30 days post-race date, along with a screenshot, on the ErgZone app.
If you are competing in time zones ahead of us on the clock, you will need to wait until we race here in Chicago before submitting a score on the ErgZone app. The race will be locked until we race virtually here at our local, USA time.
Once the first race of any series has been completed, registration for that series is closed. Don’t miss the first race! Register!

GET RACE ACCESS CHEAP AND FAST WITH OUR SPEED PASS!
Not interested in race merch, social media images, and certificates? Just want to race? That’s cool. We’ve created a new payment option called the Speed Pass that grants access to our events at a discounted price without any of the extras. The Speed Pass is ideal for rowers who want to test their stuff against other rowers worldwide, have their results reported to Concept2 for ranked events, and not pay for anything but access to our event on ErgZone.
$15 is the most you’ll pay for any of our individual events if you choose the Speed Pass option at registration, some events are even cheaper! We also offer Speed Pass pricing on our race packages.
Speed Pass race results will be reported to Concept2 rankings and posted on our leaderboard.
Full-price, “Full-Entry” race access for solo events and race packages will continue to include all race merch, official race decals, social media share images, race certificates, and all shipping and handling fees for US and international racers.
