Where it all began! Fools Fest Sprints, Chicago’s party with ergs. Our premier indoor rowing event, where serious racing is seriously fun! We’ve taken our party online, so we can virtually race against people worldwide. Join us in dropping the hammer for a 2K!

All of our virtual races are conducted ONLINE using ERGZONE.
The app is free to download from your mobile app store.

The 2K. You know it. It’s the race you love to hate and hate to love. You can’t seem to quit it, and it never goes away. The crown jewel of the Ergon Metron, our signature event, and the race against which all other erg races are measured. The best of strategy, execution, stamina, and technique. Do you have it?

The fourth and final stage race of the Ergon Metron Series Cup, and the featured event of our last EM Championship Series! Only Fools Do 2Ks can be entered as a solo event or part of the series.

There will be medals to win, official race tees for sale, along with FFS erg towels and decals. The champions will have their names written on the Fools Fest Sprints Trophy and be crowned with their own custom Fools Fest Sprints bucket hat.

Race Rules & Info

Attention Racers! If you are competing in a different time zone or on an older model erg, offline independently, you must submit your results on the ErgZone app within 24 hours of completing the event at your local time to be eligible for Ergon Metron Series Cup rankings and prizes.

The submission window will open after the live virtual event in Chicago is completed. Once we finish racing here in Chicago, the event will be unlocked on the app for you to submit your score and screenshot of your monitor.

The submission window will remain open for 24 hours after the offical race date and start time.

Offline racers may only submit one entry.

If you miss the official start for any reason, you can still submit a time manually on the ErgZone app within 30 days of the official race date to earn your EM Master race cap but you will be out of contention for the Ergon Metron Championship rankings and prizes.

 

Age Divisions

  • SGGM = Super Great Grand Master > 70

  • GGM = Great Grand Master > 60

  • GM = Grand Master – 50-60

  • M = Master – 27-49

  • O = Open – 20-26

  • JR = Junior – 0-19

Weight Categories

  • Lightweight Women: <= 135lbs (61.5kg)

  • Heavyweight Women: > 135 lbs (61.6kg)

  • Lightweight Men <= 165lbs (75kg)

  • Heavyweight Men > 165lbs (75kg)

  • PR2

  • PR3

RACERS IN OTHER TIME ZONES may compete at their local time on Sunday, March 29, at 9 am, but they MUST submit their results on ErgZone within 24 hours of completing the event.

COMPETING ON AN OLDER MODEL ERG? You can still compete if your erg doesn't have a PM5 monitor. You cannot participate in live racing, but your score will count in the official results and rankings. Just enter your race time manually and submit a screenshot of your monitor on the ErgZone app so we can verify your event.

  • Manual Submissions must be entered on ErgZone within 24 hours of the official start date and time to be counted in the official rankings and be posted on our website.

  • Please check the date on your monitor to ensure its accuracy.
