Racing live via the ErgZone app?

The 42,195 meters will be broken into 4000m intervals without any scheduled rest in between, but YOU MAY REST!

If you want to take a break, stand up, hydrate and stretch, go to the bathroom, etc., simply put your handle in the cradle and leave your phone connected to your monitor. Your monitor will not time out if your phone is connected to the event via ErgZone. It doesn’t matter when you take a break or for how long. If you need to hit the bathroom at 22,315 meters, get up and go! Just don’t take your phone with you. Leave your phone connected to the event exactly where it is.

Once you stop rowing, your flywheel will spin down to a stop, but the elapsed time will continue as you take your break. When you return, just sit down and start rowing.

Important safety tip: Make sure the batteries in your monitor are fresh! (Especially if you plan on taking a bunch of extended breaks!)

Racing offline independently?

You can program the 42,195 meters into your monitor any way you like. Whatever intervals work best for you. The most important thing is taking screenshots on your cell phone before you get up to take a break. Quickly snap a picture before you leave the seat. The monitor may time out on you if you are gone too long, so make sure you capture an image of exactly where you are when you stop.

We will be verifying your completion of the event with your screenshots. You may have only one screenshot if you do the entire marathon in one sitting. You may have three or four pics of your monitor if you take multiple breaks. Save all your screenshots on your phone until you have finished the marathon. Once complete, email all of your race screens to us at info@foolsfessprints.com.

The time stamp on the email we receive from you will determine your Love Rating. Everyone must start at 8 am CST. Even those competing offline independently. The time elapsed between our 8 am start time and when we receive your email with your screenshots is your official CIL marathon time and ranking.

Once finished, you can manually enter your Crazy In Love Erg Marathon results into the app on ErgZone to appear on the leaderboard there. Here’s the link on how to do it:

You have to be Crazy In Love to erg 42,195 meters! For those who want to test the depth of their devotion to indoor rowing, we’ve got a virtual event for you!

TWO WAYS TO COMPETE:

1. Do it virtually online in one sitting with the maniacs on the ErgZone app. Those competing live via ErgZone will have their results ranked on Concept2.

2. Set it up independently offline, take rest breaks as needed, and email us your results.

• Racers competing independently offline must submit a screenshot(s) of their monitor with a total of 42,195m rowed on 2-11-24 as proof of completion to: info@foolsfestsprints.com

• Make sure the date on your monitor is correct! We will only be accepting results from monitor screens dated 2-11-2024.

• The time stamp on your email will determine your Love Rating Score. (For example, we start at 8 am, and you finish at 11 am, that’s 3 hours. You are one SERIOUS rower.) If you have multiple screenshots, send them all in one email when you have completed the marathon.

If you decide, “THAT’S ENOUGH!” and break up with your erg, send us the screenshot(s) of how far you made it. You still get your can coolie, AND you’ll get a Dear John letter as well!

The official start time of this marathon is 8 am CST for all racers, online and off.

Love Rating Categories:

2.45 hrs or less = OBSESSED
3 hrs = SERIOUS
4 hrs = WILD
5 hrs = FLIRTING
6 hrs = CRUSH
7 hrs = FRIENDS
8-24 hrs = BLAH

• Every racer will receive a Crazy In Love collapsible neoprene can coolie.

  • Approximately 2mm thick, they will stretch and easily fit in standard 12oz cans and standard 12oz bottles.

• Every racer will receive a social media share image with their category lit up on the erg love testing machine.

• Every racer will also get a UV-protected official CIL erg marathon race decal.
